Never one word only

A whole sentence

A message from the author

Subjective

Universal truth

How do I find it?

Look for topics first. Is the author talking about love, bravery, adventure etc.?

When looking for a theme, ask yourself "what is the author trying to teach us or show us through their writing"?

How do I formulate it?

• take a closer look to your song's lyrics (the lyrics being Dutch, or perhaps not even present, doesn't mean you can't discuss and explain in English)
