• Present Perfect ex. 10 p. 14

Past Simple - (p. 56 small booklet)

->Action finished in the past (last night/yesterday/this morning/in 1980 etc.)

• Regular form: verb + ED (I decided/you believed etc.)
• Irregular verbs: 2nd form (i.e. draw/drew/drawn)  learn by heart (small booklet - p.88-91)
• Questions: did + verb
• Negatives: didn't + verb

->Regular ACTION OR SITUATION/STATE in the past:

• Used to + verb (I used to smoke a lot/ I used to attend Glengarry District High School when I was a teen.)
• Didn't use to + verb

-> Only SITUATION/STATE in the past:

• Would + verb (I would go out every evening during my studies in Groningen.)

Present Perfect (p. 57 sb)

1. Action that started in the past and is still going on  -> for/since/how long..
2. Action that has just finished (when = not important) -> already, (not) yet, just
3. Result is important, not when
4. To talk about experience (have you ever been to ...?; I have always believed ...; I have never come across...)
