Before we start

Get out your reading book and start reading. 

If you did not bring a book with you, start copying the words from chapter 6, Dutch and English.

You will find these in your course book on page 111. Hand in your complete list at the start of next week's lesson

Goals

At the end of this lesson you will know when to use "some" and when to use "any"

At the end of this lesson you will know when to use "who" and when to use "which"

At the end of this lesson you will be able to use the part simple tense in a sentence

At the end of this lesson you will have practiced with the vocab from unit 6 lesson 2

Some - any

When do you use some?

- bevestigende zin (+) = some

- ontkennende zin (-) = any

- vragende zin (?) = any - some --> gebruik je in vragende zinnen als je het antwoord "ja" verwacht

Examples

(+) Yes, I am looking for something

(-) I do not want to go anywhere

(?) Is anybody there?

(?) I'm hungry. Can I have something to eat? --> You expect a "yes, you can" answer

Imagine you're home alone, you do not expect a "yes" after this question

Past simple

You use the past simple when something has happened in the past.

The past simple mostly ends with -ed

There are a two exeptions:

- When a verb ends with an "e" already you only put a "d" at the end

- Irregular verbs have their own form in the past simple

Examples

I played a game last night

He walked away

You liked today's lesson

We loved each other very much

He forgot my bithday and he stole my bike
