Slide 5 - Sleepvraag

Drag the organs to the correct place in the torso.

Slide 6 - Sleepvraag

Humans and plants have organs; what do you call a group of organs that work together?
A
Organs
B
Tissue
C
Cells
D
Organ system

Slide 7 - Quizvraag

Organs of a
plant are...
A
The leaf and the veins
B
Stem and an embryo
C
Root, stem and leaves
D
Tap root, lateral root, root hairs

Slide 8 - Quizvraag

With which organ does the plant make its own nutrients (food)?
A
root
B
leaf
C
stem
D
flower

Slide 9 - Quizvraag

What is NOT a function
of roots?
A
store food reserves
B
take up water and minerals
C

Slide 12 - Tekstslide

Slide 13 - Video

Cells
  • Cells are the building blocks of organisms.

  • There are different types of cells, but their structure is mostly the same.

  • The human body has about 30 trillion cells.

Slide 14 - Tekstslide

Slide 15 - Tekstslide

Different types
  • Cells can have all sorts of shapes,
such as a sphere or a cube.

Slide 16 - Tekstslide

Animal cells
  • All animals have the same type of cells — animal cells.
  • The shape can vary, but the parts are the same.
  • cel organelles: the parts of a cell that have their own functions

Slide 17 - Tekstslide

Animal cells
  • Cytoplasm: fluid consisting of water with dissolved substances

  • Cell membrane: thin skin around the cytoplasm (which regulates the intake and release of substances)

Slide 18 - Tekstslide

Animal cells
  • Nucleus (kern): the control center of the cell.

  • Nuclear membrane: a membrane surrounding the nuclear plasma

Slide 19 - Tekstslide

Plantaardige cellen

Slide 20 - Tekstslide

Plant cells
  • Plant cells have all the parts that animal cells have.

  • Plus, they have a few parts that animal cells never have:

Slide 21 - Tekstslide

Plant cells
  • The plant cell also has a cell membrane and a nucleus with a nuclear membrane.

  • Cell wall: a rigid layer outside the cell membrane.

Slide 22 - Tekstslide

Plant cells

  • vacuole: a vesicle that is filled with fluid

Slide 23 - Tekstslide

photosynthesis

water + carbon dioxide + light

glucose + oxygen

Slide 24 - Tekstslide

Plant cells
  • chloroplasts: plastids (korrels) where photosynthesis takes place

  • They also give the plant its green color!

Slide 25 - Tekstslide

Plastids
= "korrels" in the cytoplasm

  • chloroplasts = bladgroenkorrels => photosynthesis
  • chromoplasts = kleurstofkorrels => yellow, orange /red color
  • amyloplasts = zetmeelkorrels => starch storage

Slide 26 - Tekstslide

Verschillen planten en dierlijke cel

Slide 27 - Tekstslide

Is this an animal cell or a plant cell?

A
animal
B
plant

Slide 28 - Quizvraag

Both animal cells and plant cells have cytopplasm.
A
true
B
not true

Slide 29 - Quizvraag

An animal cell has a cell wall
A
yes, always
B
yes, sometimes
C
no, never

Slide 30 - Quizvraag

Slide 32 - Sleepvraag

What is the function of each part of a plant cell?
Controls everything that happens in the cell.
Makes a plant cell sturdy.

Can allow substances to enter and leave the cell.
Provides a strong layer around the cell.
Viscous fluid; the nucleus and chloroplasts are located within it.
