Read the following text

Rory didn't sleep much, so she's really tired. She wanted to go for a walk in the park, but she also considered taking a nap instead. She could go alone or invite her friend Emily to join her. Rory decided to go for a walk because she needed some fresh air.

Take a look at the words in bold.

Conjunctions (voegwoorden)

Function	Conjunction	Example
gevolg	so	Rory didn't sleep much, so she's really tired. Rory heeft weinig geslapen, dus zij is erg moe.
tegenstelling	but	She wanted to walk in the park but considered taking a nap instead. Ze wilde in het park wandelen, maar overwoog in plaats daarvan een dutje te doen.
keuze	or	She could go alone or invite her friend. Ze kon alleen gaan of haar vriendin uitnodigen.
reden/oorzaak	because	Rory went for a walk because she needed some fresh air. Rory ging wandelen omdat ze wat frisse lucht nodig had.
opsomming	and	Rory loves to read and write stories in her journal. Rory houdt van het lezen en het schrijven van verhalen in haar dagboek.

2. You're going to write a short story (about 50-60 words) just like my example, using those conjunctions. 

3. You have about 10 minutes to finish the short text.

4. On the next slide you'll see what you have to write about. 

5. The goal of this exercise is to see whether you can use the conjunctions in sentences and to practice your overall writing skills. 

Creative writing

Write

You notice a door in your house that you’ve never seen before. It wasn’t there yesterday.

- Where does the door lead, and how do you feel about it?

- Do you enter the door, and if so, what do you find on the other side?

- Start with: ''today, I noticed a door in my house that I’ve never seen before.''

Rules

- You have to include these 5 conjuncitons: SO, AND, BECAUSE, BUT, OR

- You have to write about fictional people (not about classmates) and nothing inappropriate
