  • Prepositions of place show where something is located:

You can use comparatives to compare two things or people.
"I am taller than my brother. / My sister is more intelligent than our cat"
Notice how we use 'than' when making a comparison.

You can use superlatives to talk about the difference between more than two things or people.
"My dad is the tallest in our entire family. / Dolphins are the most intelligent animals in the world"

Present Simple = Tegenwoordige tijd​

Je gebruikt de Present Simple als je het wilt hebben over gewoontes/routines en feiten. Dingen die dus altijd, nooit, of regelmatig gebeuren.
  • My brother goes to the gym every day.
  • At home we always talk about our day when we have dinner.
  • Water freezes when it gets below 0 degrees.

Present Continuous
Present Continuous = Tegenwoordige tijd (duurvorm)​

Je gebruikt de Present Continuous voor dingen die nu aan de gang zijn of die binnenkort gaan gebeuren. Het gebeurt dus op dit moment (of bijna), en is nog niet afgelopen.
  • My brother just left, he is going to the gym.
  • We are eating spaghetti and talking about our day at the moment.
  • It's -5 degrees outside, so the water is freezing. Hopefully we can ice skate tomorrow!
