(500 AD) King Clovis was leader of the german Franks. He conquered the whole Roman province Gaull. 

The Frankisch empire of Clovis would break up again but king ''Karel Martel'' united the Frankish empire agian under one rule.

''Karel Martel'' was the grandfather of Charlemagne.

Cause: The childern of the vassals had inherited the land from their parents. The childern of vassals treated the loaned land as their own. They didn't swear an oath to the king.
