Tenses overview: future tenses

Would you rather only be able to read 10 words per minute or only be able to type 10 words per minute? Why?

While indicates that there are/were two things happening at the same time: 2x continuous form.

Future option 1: Present simple

used for schedules and timetables

(i.e. things that always happen at the same time, quite regularly)

helping verb: do/does

SHIT-rule

Write a sentence about a scheduled thing (arrival, departure, starting time, etc.). Use the present simple.

Future option 2: will/shall

(aka Future Simple, but you may forget about that)

form: will/shall + verb

used for spontaneous decisions, offers, promises OR predictions WITHOUT evidence

Make a spontanous offer. Use will/shall.
"Don't worry, ......"

To be going to + verb

intentions, plans

predictions WITH evidence

present continuous (to be + verb+ing)

personal arrangements (in your diary)
