De meeste meervouden in het Engels eindigen op -s.

For example:

Jacket           Jackets

Apple            Apples

Girl                 Girls

but....

Er zijn uitzonderingen. Onregelmatige meervouden.

Wanneer een woord eindigt op een 

f, wordt dit een v en komt er vaak een e bij.

Dus:

knife           knives

leaf              leaves

calf              calves

and...

Eindigt het woord op een y, 

dan wordt dit een ie + s.

Dus:

baby           babies

story          stories

party          parties
