Wat ik wil dat de leerlingen kennen/kunnen aan het einde van de les:

Aan het einde van de les kan de leerling leesstrategieën gebruiken om missende alinea's terug in een tekst te zetten.

Aan het einde van de les 

Eigen lesdoel: zorg dat de activiteit van het zoekend lezen docent-gestuurd is door middel van duidelijke aanwijzingen.

Bij de deur: Good morning, put your phone in the phonebag immediately and take a seat.

Drinken/eten mag tot de bel gaat.

Plan: Presentation + exam texts.

At the end of the lesson I:

- know 2 types of inflation

- can use reading strategies to place missing paragraphs back into a text.

Overgang 'pauze' naar doelen: alright everybody, good morning. Put your phones in the phone bag. I want all 21 of them in there. Put all your food and drinks in your bag and take out your books, a notebook and a pen. Compliment the students who already have their books/put their phones away. Make it go quick. They can do this within 30 seconds because it's all a reminder of what I already said.

Today we have the first 2 presentations and after that we will check the homework and start with A, listening as your homework. Student, please read out the goals for me.

Interruptions:

1. naam, verwachting

2. waarschuwing 1

3. verplaatsen (= waarschuwing 2)

4. vertrekken - dit wel echt doen. Als ik dit consequent doe, gebeurt het mogelijk een aantal keer, maar daarna hopelijk niet meer.

Presentations

1. While the person in front of the class is presenting, the rest of the class is quiet. Laughter (about someone's use of English) will not be tolerated.

2. Those not presenting write down: 1 tip, 1 top, 1 question about the topic.

3. When the presentation is done, we will have a short questions and feedback round. Any feedback you hear is for everyone.

A couple of rules about the presentation to keep in mind. They all write down 1 tip, 1 top and 1 question about the topic of the presentation. Basically tell them it's the same as yesterday.

Explanation should be much shorter this time so 1 min to set up. Then 1 presentation of 5-8 min, then a short question/feedback round of about 3 minutes.

Making this part of the lesson a total of about 12 minutes.

Before we read, what could be some things to do or look for when doing this type of exercise?

Deel de hand-out uit en vraag leerlingen na te denken over hoe je dit soort vraag aan zou kunnen pakken. Wat doe je, waar kijk je naar?

Let's read the first paragraph together. Pay attention to the information it gives, especially in the first and last sentence.

Then we will look at the first sentences of the 3 paragraphs. Only looking at that, which one would follow the first paragraph?

Uitleg, Het stukje lezen + de eerste zinnen: 3 minuten.

Vraag een leerling welke van de 3 volgens hen het beste zou passen. Door middel van alleen de eerste zinnen van de alineas. - we zoeken hier C. Bespreek ook waarom a en b niet kunnen (geen protest, wie is 'zij'?). - 3 min

Herhaal voor de andere 2 - 5 min.

Totaal: 11 min

Zelf proberen

What: Maak de 2 teksten op de andere pagina's. Gebruik dezelfde strategieën. (lees alinea en dan de eerste zin van mogelijke alinea's die volgen)

How: Je mag zachtjes overleggen met de persoon naast je. 

Help: De tekst, de strategie, elkaar, de docent

Time: 10-15 min tot 13:56

Done: Laat je antwoorden controleren.

Zelf bezig:

Verwachtingen: Dan ga je nu de andere 2 teksten zelf maken. Ik wil iedereen bezig zien met deze opdrachten. Je mag zachtjes overleggen. Je mag samenwerken. Als je klaar bent met de opdrachten dan Ga je woordjes leren

Zet leerlingen aan het werk.

Als leerlingen niet bezig zijn waar ze mee bezig moeten zijn: 

1. Herhaal de verwachtingen

2. Waarschuw ze

3. Verplaats ze naar een plek waar ze alleen zitten.

4. Geef ze strafwerk op. morgen leveren ze in: woordjes C En-Ne en Ne-En Deze gaan ze buiten het lokaal maken. Alleen boeken/papier en pen mee, de tas en telefoon blijven in het lokaal.

I will ask a student to read out the goals and ask if they have done those things 

Students may not put their books away until I am done discussing the goals with them. If they do, they need to grab them again. No exceptions. (Unless I have told them they could in the step before this)
