Compound and stereo microscopes are commonly used. Compound microscopes have higher magnification.

Parts of a Microscope

Eyepiece, objective lens, stage, fine/coarse focus, light source are key components.

Preparing Specimens

Specimens must be thinly sliced or transparent to be observed under a microscope.
