Present simple

can someone guess?  Can you give an answer in the past tense:

PAST TENSE: 
- I went to ............. on holiday!

It is Past Simple

- It happened in the past and it is important when. 

Is this sentence correct:
I have lived in England 2 years ago

RIGHT

WRONG

Just to see where you are at.  I haven't explained it yet, so don't worry if you don't know.  What do you think? 

- Should use PAST SIMPLE: I lived in England 2 years ago. 

Never use HAVE/HAS in the past simple! 

I LIVED in England 2 years ago. 

Subject   +    Past tense of the verb

 - Happened in the PAST. 

- The action has ENDED. 

I had a cat when I was young. 

I have lived in England 2 years ago

Lets analyse these sentences: 

They no longer have a cat. 

DO NOT put have/has in the sentence.  It is SIMPLE.  subject + past participle. 

What time did you wake up this morning?

Answer in the form:   Subject + past tense (of 'wake').
