The 'social contract' is part of Rule of Law (Rechtsstaat). And relevant to understand the political bond. What is the social contract?

1. People receive benefits from the state for division of welfare
2. People help each other based on solidarity
3. Silent trade off: protection for obedience
4. Civil society as bridging power between state and citizens
