Today's plan:

- You will practice using the past perfect and past simple

- You will learn the differences between the past perfect and past simple. 

When to use

Als er iets gebeurd is in het verleden, VOOR een andere gebeurtenis in het verleden.

(De eerste gebeurtenis wordt dan vervoegd met de Past Perfect  en de volgende gebeurtenis met de Past Simple)

The past perfect - voltooid verleden tijd

Het had gesneeuwd voordat we naar buiten gingen.

It had snowed before we went outside. 

Toen Sarah en Tim 25 jaar waren, hadden zij al 5 jaar gewerkt. 

When Sarah and Tim were 25 years old, they had already worked for 5 years.
