No Article
Sometimes, we don't use any article before a noun. This happens when we are talking about something in a general.
For institutions such as hospital, school, prison, college, university or church we don't use 'the' if we think about the use of the building and not about the building itself. We also leave out the article when use of street names, years or even meals.
We do use 'The' if we really mean the building

She had been wandering around the hospital all night.

He is in hospital now.
I live on Sloterkade 167 in Amsterdam.
Spring is my favourite season.
I am going for lunch now.
Je gebruikt wel "the" als je echt het gebouw bedoelt:

She had been wandering around the hospital all night.
