Agenda
  • Instruction basic 1  and 2
  • Summarize
  • Homework questions

Slide 2 - Tekstslide

After today
  • You can describe how plants use photosynthesis to store energy in glucose
  •  You can explain that breaking down glucose release energy

Slide 4 - Sleepvraag

What is glucose?

Slide 5 - Open vraag

Glucose
  • Sugar
  • Energy
  • Used to build other molecules

Slide 6 - Tekstslide

Photosynthesis
  • Energy sun -> glucose
  • Water + carbon dioxide -> Oxygen and glucose
  • Symbols?
  • Metabolism example

Slide 7 - Tekstslide

Metabolism
  • Conversion of substances in a cell into other substances
  • Glucose is formed during photosynthesis
  •  During metabolism glucose is converted into different products

Slide 8 - Tekstslide

The pathway of glucose
  • Breakdown of substances = decomposition
  • Breakdown of glucose = body respiration
  • Energy release

Slide 9 - Tekstslide

Slide 10 - Tekstslide

Body respiration
  • Breakdown of glucose
  • Mitochondria inside cells
  • All cells, all species.
  • More in muscles or more in skin?

Slide 11 - Tekstslide

How do you get oxygen in your body?

Slide 12 - Open vraag

Abdominal / belly breathing = diaphragm

Slide 13 - Tekstslide

The composition of the air we breath
Air is a mixture of several gasses but it consists mainly of Nitrogen (stikstof) and Oxygen.

Air always contains a bit of water vapor, although the amount of water varies. The composition is therefor often stated for dry air.

Slide 14 - Tekstslide
