Bij gewoontes, dingen die we met regelmaat doen, feiten. ( G i R a F .)	Nu / op dit moment bezig

Doel: je kunt vertellen over je gewoontes en wat je nu aan het doen bent.

Wanneer gebruik je de present simple?

We gebruiken de present simple als we het hebben over:

- feiten,

- gewoonten,

- en dingen die we met regelmaat doen.

- This book has a red color. (feit)

- Bart always bites his nails. (gewoonten)

- These kids often play with each other. (regelmatigheid)

S.h.it. regel:

W voegen een -s toe als je een werkwoord gebruikt bij he, she of it. Je kunt dit onthouden met de shit-regel. In het woord shit zit namelijk She, He en IT:

- she --> she swims fast.

- he --> he swims fast.

- it --> it swims fast.

In alle andere gevallen (I,you,we,they) gebruik je gewoon het hele werkwoord (ook wel de stam genoemd) namelijk: swim (dus zonder -s)

let op bij: to be en to have

• De present continuous is een vorm van de tegenwoordige tijd.
• Je gebruikt de present continuous bij gebeurtenissen die: nu bezig of nu aan de gang zijn
