Vocabulary

You will practise the vocabulary: 

• Choose a word from each text
• Write a proper English sentence with each word
• Make sure the meaning of the word is clear from the sentence
• Underline the WaspReporter words
• You will have 6 sentences when you are finished

Vocabulary

You will practise the vocabulary:

• Give your 6 sentences to a different student
• You now have someone else's sentences
• Translate the words from WaspReporter into Dutch
• Check your own answers

Mock Test: Grammar

In the test week you will have a grammar test about:

present simple, present continuous, future, adjectives and adverbs

Now you will take a mock test and see if you're ready

In test week 1 you will have a reading test

The test will be about old exam texts

It is great practise for you exams next year

It will give you a clear indication how much more practise you need for the real exam next year

Step by Step

1. Read the title + Look at the pictures + other aspects that stand out

2. Read the (first) question

3. Read the part of the text that goes with the question

4. Don't read the MC options, think of your own answer

5. Choose one that matches and/or cross out incorrect ones

4. Repeat steps 3 , 4 and 5 until all the questions are answered

5. New text: start at step 1

Tips

• Look up vocabulary that you do not understand (only if it stops you from understanding the bigger picture). Context can usually help you.
  You can use a dictionary for the real test.
• Make sure you can point at the answer in the text, this should make you more confident that it's correct. 
• Do exactly what they ask. For example, when they ask you to quote (citeer), do not do it the Dutch way. Do what they want.
