Articles are placed before a noun,   In English we know two types of articles: THE (definite article) and A or AN (both INdefinite articles)

Definite article - THE
"THE" is placed before a singular or plural noun

The definite article (the) is used before a noun to define it as something specific (e.g., something previously mentioned or known, something unique, or something being identified by the speaker).

Indefinite article - A, AN
"A" is placed before a singular noun beginning with a consonant sound
"AN" is placed before a singular noun beginning with a vowel sound

The indefinite article (a, an) is used before a noun that is general or when its identity is not known.
