A glacier is wide and therefore also erodes a wide valley. The valley takes the shape of a U; a U-valley.

Different with a river, which makes a much narrower valley: a V-valley.

Material can roll, slide and fall.

Type of movement depends on:

1. How steep the slope is.

2. The size of the rock
