Verleden tijd = Past tense

Na woorden zoals yesterday, last night, in 1997, when I was young, etc gebruik je in het Engels de gewone verleden tijd (simple past).

Bijvoorbeeld:

Shakespeare died in 1616 en niet Shakespeare has died in 1616, omdat 1616 een gebeurtenis in het verleden is.

How to be polite in English

Tip no 3 about "I want never gets" is very important in English writing. What does this expression mean? And what should you use instead of want?
