This is a good example for opening a speech because it uses the power of imagination.

This is a bad way to open your speech because it is not appealing towards the audience. Don't start with facts, bring them up later as arguments.

We follow those who lead, not for them, but for ourselves. And it’s those who start with “why” that have the ability to inspire those around them or find others who inspire them.”

This is a bad way to end your speech, because there is no real conclusion here. Don't say just thank you to end your speech.
