TO BE GOING TO

Wanneer?	Om aan te geven wat iemand van plan is of wat zeker zal gebeuren.
Hoe?	to be (am/is/are) + going to + hele ww
Voorbeeld?	I am going to visit my friends this weekend.

To be going to: Bevestigend

to be + going to + hele werkwoord

I am going to miss the bus	We are going to miss the bus
You are going to miss the bus	You are going to miss the bus
He / She is going to miss the bus	They are going to miss the bus

Negative

Onderwerp + am/is/are + NOT + going to + hele ww + rest van de zin

John is not going to fail his test because he studied hard!

Questions

am/is/are + onderwerp + going to + hele ww + rest van de zin

Is John going to fail his test because he didn't study?

Let op!

Als je hoofd werkwoord "go" is, dan moet je het woord go twee keer gebruiken.

I am going to go to a festival this summer.

GONNA is spreektaal. Dit mag je NIET op je toets schrijven.

future tenses: Will

Future with will :

• We use future with will  when we're talking about
  promises or predictions.

• Will + infinitive 

I will pass my test.

WILL + HELE WERKWOORD / WILL + NOT = WON'T

Je gebruikt deze vorm bij voorspellingen (nog niet zeker) of als je iets spontaan doet wat niet gepland is.

+ The sun will shine tomorrow.

- The sun won't shine tomorrow.

Shall

SHALL + HELE WERKWOORD / SHALL + NOT = SHAN'T

Dit is een vorm die minder vaak gebruikt wordt. Deze vorm wordt gebruikt bij vraagzinnen met I & We.

? Shall I help you with these bags?

? Shall we meet tomorrow morning?

- I shall not go to this meeting.
