How to write an AIDA text
AIDA stands for: Attention, Interest, Desire and Action and is a way for you to structure your text so that it encourages your audience to pay attention during your pitch. With this model you will convince your audience to take action.
Lets walk through the different stages of AIDA texts.

Slide 3 - Tekstslide

A = Attention
If you want people to join your charity organisation, you need them to listen to your pitch! This first part of the model is all about catching the attention of your target market or listeners.
Usually, this means having a catchy opening, which lets them know you have something worthy to say. When seeing/ hearing your opening, your audience should know that your offer is relevant to them and worth their attention.

Slide 4 - Tekstslide

I = Interest
Interest follows on from Attention. Grabbing a listener’s attention is important, but if you cannot interest them to listen all the way to the end, you have lost a potential member for your organisation.
So, with this text, you need to create an interest in your cause. You can do this by explaining the benefits of what it is you do and explaining what your organisation stands for. It also means that your text should always be working hard to interest your reader. Don’t bore them!

D = Desire
Just as Interest followed on from Attention, Desire follows on from Interest. This is where you are working to show your audience that not only can you provide them with a great offer, you can also show them that they will personally benefit from joining your organisation.
You might do this by talking about how easy it is to take you up on your offer, or pointing out some great things that your reader can achieve by joining your organisation.

Slide 6 - Tekstslide

A = Action
This is a crucial step because here you turn from generating an interest and desire for your offer; encouraging your reader to take action. Whatever action you want them to take, remember to tell them explicitly what you want them to do and make it easy for them to do so! For instance, become a member now and go to the website….

Remember
The most important thing to remember is that you choose one organisation and one thing that you want people to do, so that you can really focus on one particular audience in your text.
