Comparative adjectives

We gebruiken comparative adjectives om mensen, dieren, dingen of plaatsen met elkaar te vergelijken (compare)​

Om dit te doen gebruiken we :​

Korte woorden 1 of 2 lettergrepen=     Adjective+ er + than = I am taller than my mother​: quite, brave, sad, happy 

Lange woorden 3 lettergrepen=   More + adjective + than = English is more interesting than Maths​: successful, intelligent

Spelling: 

Short adjectives= + er : stronger​

​Short adjectives ending in –e : +r: cuter​

​Short adjectives ending in vowel + consontant: dubbel consonant (klinker+ medeklinker= dubbele medeklinker): +er bigger​

​Adjectives ending in –y: +ier: happier, friendlier​
