Meaning of Depreciation
It means Reduction in the value of Assets over time due to wear and tear or use of assets.

An example of Depreciation – If a delivery truck is purchased by a company with a cost of Rs. 100,000 and the expected usage of the truck are 5 years, the business might depreciate the asset under depreciation expense as Rs. 20,000 every year for a period of 5 years.

How to calculate ?
For Example – asset is purchased for AED 100,000 and useful life is 10 years with salvage value of AED.10,000 then depreciation is charged at AED 9,000 for each of the 10 years.

Depreciation Expense = Cost - salvage value/no of years used

How to Find Transport Fuel Cost 
1. Divide the total distance ( KM ) by 100
2. Multiply the answer by average fuel consumption
3. Multiply this number by the price of the fuel (Litre)

To calculate the overhead cost , divide Overhead costs by sales and multiply by 100.
Example :  Monthly sales of business = 500,000 AED
Overhead costs = 200,000 AED
