Present Perfect (is a past tense!)
Use:
1) When something has begun in the past and continues in the present Ex.: We have lived in the same house
since 1999.
2) When you talk about experiences
Ex.: I have
never eaten snails before.
3) When you talk about something that has happened in the past with a visible result in the
present
Ex.: I have painted that chair. (so, do not sit on it)
