Today we visit New Zealand. New Zealand was first settled by the Maori peoples before it was discovered by the Dutchman Abel Tasman in 1642. He named it after the Dutch province of Zeeland. It was a British colony until its independence in 1907. New Zealand is a place of outstanding natural beauty. This is why in today’s lesson we will go outside to go on an adventure!
