SOME = bevestigende zinnen

ANY = ontkennende zinnen, vraagzinnen

Let op!

1 - Zinnen die niet ontkennend zijn, maar wel een negatieve betekenis hebben:

• You have made hardly any mistakes.
• They had to walk on without any food.
• He is against snitching on anybody.

2 - Als je weet dat het antwoord op een vraag 'yes' is, gebruik je some:

• Is there something wrong? (Er is duidelijk iets mis)

3 - Ook als je iets aanbiedt of om iets vraagt, gebruik je some:

• Would you like some tea?
• Can I have some toast please?

4 - Any betekent vaak: 'het doet er niet toe wie, wat of waar'
