We called them the crazy people who live in a blue bus,’ Brian says. ‘But we just kind of looked at each other and Starla said, “Do you want to live in a bus with me?” I thought she was making a joke, but she was serious. I was at work the next day and I started to see all the positive things. For example, we can move the bus if I get a job that is 20 miles away.

We are ridiculous people and this is a ridiculous lifestyle but it just works,’ Brian says. ‘We now have money to eat the food that we want and go to the places we want.’ But it can also be a challenge to live in a bus full-time.

Is it always easy to live in this bus?

‘To live in a tiny space, you have to be really organised and disciplined. You have to keep the space clean. This is very important because rubbish makes the space even smaller,’ Brian explains. Still, they don’t ever want to go back to a normal home.
