Temperate sea climate 

• Lies close to the seas and oceans
• Difference between Sumer and winter temperatures is not that great
• Summer and winter season

• Summers are warm
• Cold winters
• Example: Russia

Why does the continental climate only exist on the northern hemisphere (noordelijk halfrond)?

• In the summer the temperature rises above 0 ⁰C, in the winter it drops below 0 ⁰C
• Summer is short and water is long
• Ground is frozen for a long period
• No trees

Too cold for trees

Polar climate 

• Temperature always remains below 0 ⁰C 
• When the temperature is below 0 ⁰C all your round, and the area is above 1500 meters, this is called a high mountain climate
