Last weekend, I walked my dog on the beach.

Last weekend, I washed my car.

past tense - use

you use the past tense:

- when something happened in the past

 He died in 1539.

She phoned her family every day, when she was on holiday.

We arrived in Rome and took a taxi. Then we went to the square.

past tense - use

you use the past tense:

when it is no longer happening, it is over.

Children didn't have so many electronic toys, when I was young.

past tense - use

you use the past tense:

when a time is mentioned (!) -> always past tense

small groups of approx. 4

per person: find 3 interesting (not inappropiate) verbs

write them on the card (1 card, 1 verb)

exchange your cards with the other group

check the verbs

look up their meaning if necessary

shuffle the cards, put stack face down on the table

- in turns take a card

- start by saying: 'Yesterday,....' and make a past tense sentence using the verb on your card.

- next student pick a new card, repeat all the previous sentence(s) and add your own, using the verb on the card

- try to make a continuing story
