PREPOSITIONS OF INSTRUMENT

3 prepositions of instrument:

1. By --> refers to methods of transportation
   e.g. She travelled by bus.
2. With --> describe the use of tools
   e.g. The table was made with a hammer and nails.
3. On --> describe the use of machines and other devices
   e.g. She's scrolling through TikTok on her phone

PREPOSITIONS OF CONNECTION

3 prepositions of connection:

1. Of --> used for possession 
   e.g. The back of the car
2. With --> when two things or people are together or related
   e.g. I am friends with her sister
3. To --> when two things or people are physically connected 
   e.g. His PlayStation is connected to the TV (with a cable)

PREPOSITIONS OF ORIGIN (1)

From --> states where someone or something comes from.

e.g. I am from The Netherlands.

e.g. I have learnt a lot from him.

PREPOSITIONS OF ORIGIN (2)

Made of --> used to talk about the material of something

e.g. This table is made of wood.

Made from --> used when the material is changed into a completely different state

e.g. Paper is made from wood.

Prepositions of direction/movement

State how and in which direction someone or something is moving. Examples: down, across, onto, along, out of, past, through, to, into, towards.

e.g. I climbed down the ladder.

e.g. I was walking down the street when I came across a nice shop.
