Quantifiers 

Goal: you can use quantifiers with countable and uncountable nouns.

• Look at the text again - which words are 'quantifiers'?
  

How many? / Many / Too many

= with countable nouns

How many friends have you got?

Have you got many books?

I have (got) many friends.

I've got too many books. = te veel

How much? / Much / Too much

= with uncountable nouns

How much money have you got?

Have you got much soup?

I haven't got much money.

I have (got) too much soup.

Which one is correct?

Finish your sentence with 'much' or 'many' + noun:
How ... (countable nouns) do you have?

a few / (very) few

= to describe a small quantity of countable nouns

I've got a few apples.

I've got (very) few friends.

a little / (very) little

= to describe a small quantity of uncountable nouns

I've got a little bit of money.

I've got (very) little water left.

• difference between using 'a' and not using 'a'?
  
  
• with 'a' = positive outlook on things :) = you have some / enough
  
• without 'a' = a negative outlook :( = you hardly have any / not enough

some = affirmative & positive questions

Can I have some pizza? -> Sure, have some pizza.

a lot of & lots of

= with both countable & uncountable

Do you have a lot of money?

I have lots of friends.

I don't have a lot of info about that.

Have you got lots of water?

lots of = a bit more informal

!!! it's NEVER 'alot' !!!
