Slide 9 - Tekstslide

Guided discovery: Ask the questions about USE, FORM and RULE and let the students discover the final rule by themselves. Note: DO NOT GIVE THE RULE. Just give positive feedback and scaffolding.
To sum it up
The SHIT-rule
After she/he/it -> + 's/es in the present tense

We use the present simple for habits or things we do regularly.

Every Sunday, Demy plays soccer.
Every morning, Jeroen calls his friend.
Every year, my dog gets a new toy.

Slide 10 - Tekstslide

After the students discovered the rule, repeat it and sum it up in clear sentences. KISS: Keep It Short and Simple
Every night, Sara ......... (read) a book.

Slide 11 - Open vraag

Interview time
You are going to interview your partner.

Ask the questions on the handout and write down your partner's answer. Make sure that you write the answers down in full sentences.

Look at the example on the handout first.

Slide 14 - Tekstslide

Guide the students through the instructions. IMPORTANT: check if they understand the exercise before they get to work. You could do the example sentence together.
Charades
The classroom will be divided into two teams. Pick a cool team name!

One person is going to act out what is on the cards, the others need to guess in full sentences using the present simple.

For example: He opens a door!

After the team guesses the correct answer, someone else will stand in front of the group and act out the card. Repeat until your team guessed all the cards and scored the most points.

Slide 15 - Tekstslide

Divide the classroom in two and give the students some time to really understand the exercise. You, as a teacher, could practise one card with everyone so they have a clear understanding of the exercise.
The end! Did we meet our goal?
Are you able to; discuss the daily routines of individuals
😒🙁😐🙂😃

Slide 16 - Poll

The students individually click on the right emoji (left if they did not reach the goal, right if they did). Ask questions about the lesson, what did they like/dislike? Give a final compliment and end the lesson.
