Adverbs of frequency
Examples:
always
almost always
generally, normally, regularly, usually, frequently, often
sometimes, occasionally
rarely, seldom, almost never, hardly ever
never, not..ever

Grammar tip: adverbs of frequency (1)
Do you remember the rules for words like "usually, never, always, hardly ever, now and again etc?
1) They come before the main verb
We usually go to the gym after school.
2) They come after to be if there is only one verb  (hulpwerkwoorden)
Liam is always the hero. 
3) They come after thr first auxiliary verb when there is more than one verb. He has never been late for  a mission.

Now and again I go to festivals.

Adverbs of frequency
4)  In questions, these adverbs usually come after the subject.

5) In negative sentences, not comes before always, generally, normally, often, regularly and usually.
We do not often see him.
6) With imperatives ( gebiedende wijs), always and never come at the beginning of the sentence.
Always look on the bright side of life.



Longer adverbials can come at the beginning or end of a sentence.
