Future tenses

Please open your notebook on a new page. 

Get your pen and markers ready. 

1. Present Continuous

Use: plan/future arrangement (you often mention time/place/date)

Form: to be (is/am/are) + verb+ing

Examples: 

I am working this weekend, because a colleague is sick. 

She is flying to Spain this Summer.

2. To be going to

Use: future intentions (you have decided to do something and tell other people about it)

Form: to be (is/am/are) + going to + verb

Examples: 

I am going to visit my sister in Spain. 

Look at the clouds! It is going to rain! 

3. Future Simple: Will + verb

Use: 1. spontaneous decision (spontaan besluit)

Form: Will + Verb 

Examples: 

Is the TV too loud? I will turn it off! 

My mom will kill me if she sees the mess in my room.
