How do you find the verb?

1. Turn it into a question. The verb will be the first word.

2. Put it into past tense. The word that changes is the verb. 

How to find the subject

Ask: who or what +the verb=subject

Inversion

What is it?

In Dutch you need to switch the subject and the verb when you put another part of the sentence in first position.

Ik fiets naar school/I cycle to school.

Vandaag fiets ik naar school/Today I cycle to school. 

Jan loopt naar school/Jan walks to school.
Morgen loopt Jan naar school/Tomorrow Jan walks to school.
