Slide 1 - Tekstslide

After today...
- I know which parts of chapter 1 I need to spend (some) more time on.
2 - I know words related to crime, and words used in the courtroom
3 - I can quote from a text

Slide 2 - Tekstslide

SO
- I will give you back your SO and talk you through the correct answers.
- After that, I want you to go to knip.ldgo.nl/student. Click on the little "plus" sign in the upper right corner and enter the code: 6vk0u   (that's a zero, not a letter o).

- Take a look at the goals 1, 2, 3 from chapter 1&2 AND the general skills and traits and score yourself.
Red: I still need to put in a lot of work to meet this goal.
Yellow: I get some of it, but not nearly all of it.
Green: I can do this
Blue: I can do this so well I could teach it to someone else.

Slide 3 - Tekstslide

Ready?
- Take a piece of paper or your notebook
- Write down which things from chapter 1 are yellow and red.
- Write down what you're going to do to bring it to green
- Those of you without any red or yellow: what are you going to do to bring all your greens to blue?

In the mean time, I will take a look at your homework.

Theme words
Turn to page 90
Do exercise 10, 11, 12, 13, 14
We'll check them in fifteen minutes. Finished before then? Come and see me for the homework

Trial by jury
Imagine you could take a look inside a courtroom in the USA or the UK.
Which different people would you expect to be there?
What are their roles in the courtcase?

Now think back to one of the crimes we discussed last Friday.

On the next slide there are two questions. Answer them both, in English. I will ask a lot of you for feedback in about 5 minutes

Slide 7 - Tekstslide

What case would you choose?
1. If you were counsel for the defendant, which case would you choose? How would you defend your client so that he or she didn't go to jail?

2. If you were the prosecutor, which case would you try? What sentence would you ask for, and what would you say to make sure the defendant got that sentence?

Slide 8 - Tekstslide

Let the wheel of doom decide who get to tell us about their choices.
