Why do we celebrate Halloween?

Because it's a tradition

 It was believed that on that day, the souls of the dead returned to their homes, so people dressed in costumes and lit bonfires to ward off spirits

Who are the Celts and where did they live?

They were a group of people who lived in Ireland over 2,000 years ago. Ireland is a country in Europe.

1. Jesus Christ returned to earth

Why do you have to watch out for fairies?

Fairies had bad tempers. They got angry if you bothered them or spoiled their fun. On Samhain Eve, you might find fairies in a field dancing with ghosts. They played pranks and caused mischief. If you upset them, they could bring nasty weather to spoil your crops.

What do you know about the Pooka?

This type of fairy often appeared as a black horse with yellow eyes. It liked to scare people. The pooka would take them for wild rides while trampling their crops. This fairy could also scare people's farm animals

How do you protect yourself against the fairies?

1. You wear a scary mask if you leave your house
2. You carry stones in your pocket

How did Halloween become so popular in the US?

In the second half of the 19th century, America was flooded with new immigrants. These new immigrants, especially the millions of Irish fleeing the Irish Potato Famine, helped to popularize the celebration of Halloween nationally
