Black Story

In the early hours of the morning, a woman is found dead in the hotel's swimming pool. 

What happened?

Een vrouw in een hotelkamer gebruikt per ongeluk een flesje nagellijm in plaats van haar oogdruppels. Zij wil naar de receptie lopen om om hulp te vragen. De dag ervoor is zij echter van kamer gewisseld omdat de televisie het niet deed. Deze nieuwe kamer is gespiegeld ten opzichte van de vorige, waardoor ze per ongeluk de balkondeur in plaats van de kamerdeur opent. Ze valt over het hek van het balkon in het zwembad beneden. Bij het neerkomen raakt ze bewusteloos en verdrinkt.

Phrasal Verbs

• two or more parts
• one is a verb,  and at least one particle, a preposition/adverb like up, along, around, on 
• the combination has a meaning of its own  (could be more than one)
• cf. to turn up, to put up with
• Mostly informal use (spoken English)

to put up with =  verdragen, uitstaan

to put up with someone

to turn up = opdraaien, aankomen.
