Vorm:

1. vorm van 'to be': am / are / is

2. werkwoord

3. + -ing

I am doing the dishes right now.

My parents are watching TV.

Verkorte vorm: I'm doing / She's listening / We're watching

Spellingsregels:

• Eindigt het werkwoord op een -e, dan valt de -e weg

(to have)     I am having lunch.

(to give)   He is giving us homework.

• Werkwoord van 1 lettergreep met een korte klinker (a, e, i, o, u), verdubbel dan de medeklinker

(to put)     We are putting sugar in his tea.

(to run)   She is running a marathon.
