disadvantages
A study of 6,595 U.S. teenagers aged 12–15 found that those who spent more than 3 hours per day on social media were twice as likely to have mental health problems like depression and anxiety.

Researchers have also found links between social media use and other problems in teenagers, like cyberbullying, poor body image, low self-esteem, and poor sleep

Most parents of teenagers say they are worried that their child's social media use could lead to problems like anxiety, depression, bullying, and being exposed to bad content.
