Slide 15 - Woordweb
Conductors
Insulators
Slide 16 - Sleepvraag
Give examples of where static electricity occurs.
Slide 17 - Woordweb
Static electricity occurs
polyethene (plastic) rods rubbed with a woolen cloth
rubbing something with a dry duster
pulling off a woollen or synthetic jersey
jumping on the trampoline
sliding of the plastic slide
Van de Graaff generator
electric equipment with moving parts, eg. fan (ventilator) of a computer
brushing your hair with a plastic comb or brush
lighting = discharge of staticly charged clouds

Slide 22 - Tekstslide
Answers
- two insulating* objects, eg. large clouds with ice crystals
- rubbing movement
- electrons jumping from one object to the other
- charge = energy carried by an electron
* insulators are needed to make sure the electrons stay on the objects and don't escape
What is needed for static electricity?

Slide 30 - Tekstslide
Electric push = voltage
Battery provides chemical energy to push round the current in the circuit.
What is the current?
Slide 31 - Tekstslide
Slide 32 - Video
What is electric current?
Slide 33 - Open vraag
Electric current = flow of e-
Flow of electric charges = electrons (page 85).
Electric circuit is needed = path along which electricity can flow (p. 87).
For the current to flow the circuit needs to be complete = a circuit with no gaps.
What happens in each part of the circuit starting from the battery?
Discuss in pairs.
After: random turns
Slide 34 - Tekstslide
How is electricity used in different devices?
- Light bulb
- LED light (Light Emitting Diode)
- Taser
Slide 35 - Tekstslide
Today
You choose out of the following activities:
1. Using the learning objectives > study planner > Magister verify if you grasp all the test matter. Ask specific questions. Science lab?
2. Discuss content questions from phet assignment with teacher. Come to front.
3. I had technical difficulties with the phet assignment. I'm going to check my email in order to resolve them.
4. Discuss calculations about resistance with the teacher.
5. Continue working on the BONUS material from the book or the calculations workheet.
Slide 36 - Tekstslide
I'm going to do the following:
Raise your hand if you choose option 5.
A
Learning objectives with study planner
B
teacher explanation phet assignment (content)
C
teacher explanation calculations
D
Resolve technical difficulties
