When to use the  present perfect?

• 1: to talk about something that started in the past and still continous to be true/to be the case.

Bob has known John since they were 10.

Mary has worked at the market for 5 years now.

Bill and Kate have been friends since 2011.

When to use the present perfect -2 ?

• 2:to talk about something that happened in the past (and is finished, BUT has a RESULT in the present.

Sharon has broken her leg (now she can't walk)

Jim has lost his keys ( now he can't open the door)

Gwen has eaten too much (now she feels sick)
