Look around you
How well do you know the people around you
On the characteristics worksheet:
Sort out which classmate belongs to which characteristic (1 per classmate)
You can give different people the same characteristics

Now discuss with a pair - what do you agree on?

Quaich - cup of friendship


Used for: a cup to drink out of – whisky, brandy or even champagne.

Special: This is a gift good friends give to each other often to bless a long and healthy wedding for the bride and groom.

Culture: This is important to Scottish people because its a cup with two handles. Traditionally we would only use one hand to drink and in the other hand you would carry a weapon. This cup needs two hands which means no weapon was held by the drinker and this is a sign of trust,

Used for: everyday communication for people living in Dundee
Special: Only people from that part of my home country can speak it and my family. Shipping means links to Dutch too. 'Ken' 'een' 
Culture: It's an understanding about different kinds of foods or areas or feelings that only those who understand your geographical location understand what you are talking about

Tartan
Used for: clothing, plaques, decoration
Special: This is the tartan that belongs to my family. My husband and I have had a few articles made using this tartan including my husbands kilt
Culture: Scottish families have their own tartans. My surname from the family  'Oswald' helped in a big battle and were made honourary members of the Fife District tartan.
