Present simple
Use it when:
  • Something always/regularly/never happens;
  • Recognized by words like "Always, never, often, every day"
  • Most basic form of the verb
  • +s after he/she/it -> "work" becomes "works"

Present simple
Negative sentence:
  • Don't/doesn't + verb
  • Example negative sentence:
  • "I don't like homework." (don't + verb)
Question sentence:
  • Do/does + verb
  • Example question sentence:
  • "Do you like school?" (do + verb)

Special cases for he/she/it:
  • Verbs ending with s, sh, ch, and x -> -es
  • Example: "Wash" becomes "Washes"
  • Verbs ending y -> -ies
  • Example: "Worry" becomes "worries"
  • Irregular verbs: Have -> has (learn by heart)

  • Singular: always 's
  • "The man's car"
  • Plural (meervoud): ' after -s, other cases add 's
  • For example:
  • "My friends' cat" 
  • "The people's opinion"
