WHILE

Als er while in de zin staat mag je twee keer de past continuous gebruiken

I (1. live) in Edinburgh at the time in a fourth floor flat.

It (2. be) about two o'clock and I (3. sleep).

Suddenly I woke up. I (4. hear) that a dog (5. bark) loudly outside my window.

I got up and looked out. I was still half asleep and it was very dark but I could see that someone (6. climb) up a ladder towards my bedroom window.

I was terrified. I quickly (7. phone) the police.
