  •  CONFLICT: What type of conflict applies to The Handmaid's Tale you think? Explain.
  • TONE: How would you describe the tone in The Handmaid's Tale. Take a look at the narrator as well, this influences the tone. 
  • SETTING: What is the setting like in the Handmaid's Tale. Do you think there is another setting beyond Gilead?
  • POINT OF VIEW: What is the point of view in the Handmaid's Tale? 
  • BONUS: Think of a theme that you could apply to the Handmaid's Tale. Explain why.
