Conditionals are sentences that we use when we carry out certain tasks only under the right circumstances: IF 

First Conditional

Form: So, for the first conditional one uses two different tenses in two sentences, the main sentence and the if sentence. 

For the if sentence, one uses the present simple and in the main sentence one uses will + verb

If you study well,

you will pass the test.

* "If-clause",The sentence that has If in it.

* In this part of the sentence one always uses the present simple

Onthoud: if en 'will' gaan niet samen.

If you will study well, you will pass the test.

Second conditional: What do you notice here?

Second Conditional

Vorm: With the second conditional one uses different tenses in in two sentences. In the  if  clause you use the Past Simple and in the main clause would + verb.

Gebruik: We use the second conditional when it is  not likely that anything is going to happen now or in the future.

Second conditional:
I ... (phone) your mum if I ... (be) you.

1. would phone/were
2. would phone/was
3. phoned /would be
4. phone, will be

Second conditional:
If I ... (inherit) a billion euros, I ... (travel) to the moon.

1. inherit / will travel
2. will inherit / travel
3. inherited / would travel
4. would inherit / traveled

Second Conditional:
If he ... (have) a beard, he ... (look) older.

1. would have, would look
2. didn't have, would look
3. had, would look
4. had, would look

Second Conditional:
I ... (not - eat) that, if I ... (be) you!

1. wouldn't eat, were
2. didn't eat, would be
3. won't eat, were
4. wouldn't eat, was
